The academic programmes in UI consist of Undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. Currently there are 206 academic programmes in 140 Study Programmes in 11 faculties and 1 post graduate programme. The University also offers non-degree vocational programmes, specialist and profession trainings in respective faculties. With 39,127 students, UI has attracted students from different walks of life, either nationally or internationally. Under various mobility agreements with partner universities and associations, international students can come for one semester or one year and get their credits transferred to their home universities. Scholars from abroad also come to the university for short visits, lecturing, and researching. Similarly, UI lecturers are active in various exchanges and conferences abroad. The university provides broad spectrum of facilities for their students such as 18.600 sq.m library with more than 499.000 book titles, 12.000 valuable manuscripts and 5519 journal titles, wireless internet connection in all campus, leisure and sport facilities in the greenery of 312 hectares Depok campus and historical Salemba campus.
Since its establishment in 1950, UI has continued to flourish and is expanding. It has played the leading role in Indonesia and regional development. As a result, UI has continuously increased its capacity building and research collaborations. For instance, since 2005 UI has participated in 4 Asia Link projects funded by European Union. To boost the research, UI has 94 research centres in its faculties and a Directorate for Research and Community Outreach. In addition, UI also has extensive partnerships with government offices, multinational and national companies in the areas of research, education, student support, internship, consultation, etc. With these extensive networks and partnerships, UI remains a dynamic center of excellence for research and learning, attracting Indonesian and International students and scholars.
