Based on recommendations arising from the Student Mobility Group in 2004, Fudan University offered to host the inaugural APRU Undergraduate Summer Programs in 2006, which would be open to students' participation from any of APRU member universities. The Steering Committee endorsed the proposal to have Fudan University host the APRU Undergraduate Summer Program for three consecutive years from 2006 to 2008.
National University of Singapore hosted the 4th APRU Undergraduate Summer Program in 2009 and the recent 5th APRU Undergraduate Summer Program in July 2010.

The 6th APRU Undergraduate Summer Program on "Developing Entrepreneurial and Innovative Talent in the 21st Century" was hosted by Zhejiang University from July 6 to 17, 2011 in Hangzhou, China. A total of 59 students from 27 member institutions
participated in this year's summer program.
