October 11-15, 2010
National University of Singapore
The Virtual Institute for the Studying of Ageing (VISA), The Tsao Foundation Aging Research Initiative of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Health Services and System Research (HSSR) of Duke-NUS and APRU, organized a research symposium on Healthy Aging from October 11 to 15, 2010, at NUS.
Third in a research series on aging, the symposium provided junior researchers in the Pacific Rim with a platform for networking and learning about healthy aging from numerous international and local experts. The symposium was a five-day event and consisted of signature lectures by international experts on aging, posters, papers and site visits. A research grant competition took place on the last day where participants were previously divided into teams based on similar interests and had developed project proposals on new research projects which focused on an aspect of healthy aging. The winning team walked away with the prize of S$5,000 for their submitted proposal.
