Cheryl joined the Secretariat in October 2009. Although Cheryl is the newest member of the Secretariat team, she is no stranger to APRU as she was a Senior Officer with the APRU World Institute (AWI) from 2006 to 2008. Currently, Cheryl manages APRU’s website and is in charge of the consortium's communications strategy. She joins the team in organizing major events like the Annual Presidents Meeting, Senior Staff Meeting and the Doctoral Students Conference.

Cheryl received her degree in tourism and management from the University of the Philippines after which she took a brief course in environmental education. Her professional background includes travel trade & tourism, and business management in a non-profit organization prior to moving to the academic sector. She has recently collaborated with different multinational companies through her work in Executive Education at INSEAD.

Her interests include film, poetry, Asemic writing and photography. Cheryl speaks German and is an aspiring visual artist.
